Dim Sum and Then Sum food truck in the back was phenomenal. The drinks at the bar are pretty affordable too.

If you're looking for a local bar with decent prices that also has some interesting craft beer options, look no further! Bartenders are professional, friendly and know how to make solid cocktails as well. Usually a laid back, diverse, good time crowd of all ages, not so many college kids, but a few. Some cool vintage touches. Best when the weather is nice so you can chill outside, but big enough and cozy for the winter months as well. Class act.

Bar is a staple of Durham. One of the first bars on the scene and one of my go-to's. Another great piece is that, being a private club, they have an age restriction, I believe 23 and up, that keeps huge groups of college kids from flooding the bar and overcrowding everything. There's indoor and outdoor seating that's comfortable. The staff have stayed over the years so there's also a fun familiarity to the place. They're super kind and quick to serve. Drinks are super reasonably priced and they always have a cheap pint of Budweiser on tap. Surf Club also hosts a bunch of changing food trucks and weekly events, so even past the dive bar ambiance, there's quite a bit to do, including games they have set up. Would highly recommend as a day time stop for a nice, relaxing drink, or a fun night out on the weekend.

Great vibe. Cool outdoor and indoor elements to attract fun-lovers galore. Eclectic mix of people from, literally, ALL walks of life socializing with one another. And decent-mixed cocktails and/or beer served up by the most welcoming bartenders. What more could you want?! Definitely a must-visit if you're out on the town in Durham, NC.
